Made by Fullbright in 2013 for PC, Gone Home was finally released on XBox One and Playstation 4 in 2016. This is where I played it. I’d heard about it vaguely years prior, but seeing as I’m not a huge PC gamer, I never got hands on it.
You might have missed it because it’s hard to talk about. Your friends might have said you should play it, but couldn’t tell you anything about it. Not the story, not the characters, not even the playtime. Literally everything is a possible spoiler.
I want to extol the virtues of this game and convince you to buy it right now. You are going to ask what the premise is – I can’t tell you. You’re going to want to know how long it will take you to play – I can’t tell you. You’re going to want to know what genre it fits into – I can’t tell you that, either.
I’d like to.
But I can’t.
It’ll ruin the whole game.
I feel like this alone should be enticing enough to get people to play, yet it seems to turn people off more than it invites them. Where’s the love of mystery? Where’s the adventure? Take a chance.
