Payday 2 is the follow up to the original which appeared on Steam and PS3, this title is going to be on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on August 13th 2013.
We got a chance to get a bit handsy with some guns and loot at E3 and I am happy to say this game plays extremely well. 4 player co-op and a Heat like mentality is the perfect recipe for some long gaming sessions.
Pictured above are some of the new menus you can use you share of previous heists to upgrade your character and weapon load outs (look at that handsome neck roll, I rarely get to see it unless I dual wield mirrors). 30 different locations are available so that should help keep things interesting for quite some time.
The mission I got to playthrough jumped right off with a bang as we kicked the doors open on our van and had to run out into the light to have a welcoming committee formed by the SWAT team. That goal was simple, grab a dufflebag of cocaine and shoot your way to the get away car. Seems simple right? Well, the key here is cooperation and teamwork. Lugging a heavy bag tends to slow you down, having teammates that stray off and not cover you makes you a pretty damn easy target. If you have a bit of Left4Dead experience you should be able to pick up quickly how to best accomplished your shared goals and walk away with a big score. Just don’t start arguing that you don’t want to be Mr. Pink, he’s that one that got away remember?
