Patrick's 10 Favorite Vampire and Werewolf Movies

02. Lost Boys (1987)

Just about everything from the Lost Boys is delightful and it stands as one of the most prominent confounds to my hatred of Joel Schumacher for Batman and Robin. I wish I could write the dude off as a no talent ass clown but the fact is that he can make great movies so long as they don’t involve much loved comic book properties. Lost Boys tells the story of two brothers who move with their mom to Santa Clara, CA, the murder capital of the USA (according to the film) to stay with their grandpa. The oldest of the two, Michael (Jason Patric), quickly falls in with the wrong crowd while chasing tail at the boardwalk. Unfortunately in this case the ‘wrong crowd’ is made up of vampires led by David (Kiefer Sutherland) who wants to induct Michael into their ranks. And he does just that until younger brother Sam (Corey Haim) enlists the help of the Frog brothers (Corey Feldman and Jamison Newlander) two local comic shop workers and part time vampire slayers to kill the head vampire before Michael can turn completely. The movie straddles the line between serious and hilarious and does so with almost uncanny precision. There is a lot of lovable cheese here but it isn’t a so bad it’s good sort of thing it is legitimately good. I am not sure how Schumacher nailed this so well and botched the Batman franchise so completely but there it is. Lost Boys is a true genre classic. Sadly the 2008 sequel Lost Boys: the Tribe did not manage to walk the same line but is notable for an after the credits shot of a now turned Sam squaring off against a surviving Edgar Frog. A third installment has also been complete presumably for a 2010 release.

  3. You can also use midi controllers on certains phones, and you
can load your own sounds and samples in WAV or Soundfont format.
It’s all being done on a consumer and a grass-roots basis but I think some of the options that are available in
usable technologies can be brought here and the DVC30 was one of those.
Not all mp3 player decor will work with the next brand.
