02. Brotherhood of the Wolf (2001)
Brotherhood of the Wolf is a very strange movie. It is a horror film, a Merchant Ivory style period piece, a mystery and a martial arts movie all rolled into one. Directed by Cristophe Gans the film is based around a series of 18th century killings in France and the legend of the Beast of Gevaudan. In this fictional take on the killings, Gregoire de Fronsac (Samuel Le Bihan) a taxidermist and his Iroquois companion Mani (Mark Dacascos) arrive in Gevaudan to hunt the beast that targets women and children around the countryside. The hunt leads to a web of intrigue best left for the film to show. It also leads to some really badass martial arts fights. I am not sure where Mani learned kung fu, or where Fronsac learned it either but both of the kick major ass. The performances are terrific across the board and the movie is absolutely beautiful partially due to Gans’s skill behind the camera and partially do to France being absolutely beautiful and the film makes me wish that Gans would direct more things. The film is in French with subtitles and while there is an English dub track the voices are corny and don’t fit and for some reason the sound takes a hit. If you can sit through Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon then this is a piece of cake especially considering it features Monica Bellucci being super hot. Ultimately it is really not a werewolf movie in the traditional sense but the Beast of Gevaudan legend most often claims it was a werewolf so that is good enough for the list. It is an odd movie and maybe not for every taste but I think it is nothing short of amazing.

You can also use midi controllers on certains phones, and you
can load your own sounds and samples in WAV or Soundfont format.
It’s all being done on a consumer and a grass-roots basis but I think some of the options that are available in
usable technologies can be brought here and the DVC30 was one of those.
Not all mp3 player decor will work with the next brand.
