06. Ginger Snaps (2000)
More so than vampire movies, werewolf movies often use the uncontrollable change of lycanthropy as metaphor for things that rage inside us and we can’t get a handle on. In Ginger Snaps the metaphor is played for puberty and the changes and tumultuous emotions that brings forth. The film follows two very close teenage sisters who are obsessed with death such that they stage and film mock death scenes and discuss how people they don’t like will die as they find themselves embroiled in local drama involving dogs in the neighborhood being mutilated. One of the sisters, Ginger, is bitten by the Beast of Baily Downs and begins to go through strange changes. As Ginger goes through the change her behavior becomes more erratic and reckless and drives a wedge between the two sisters until it is clear that Ginger must be stopped. Murder and mayhem abounds as the sisters go to war. Ginger Snaps is very well made and has more of an independent sensibility to it than straight up horror which makes for a better movie as it offers more than just gore and cheap scares.

Okay, so I was almost to the bottom of the “vampire” list and I was like, “Where the hell is the Lost Boys.”
I almost had a stroke.

You can also use midi controllers on certains phones, and you
can load your own sounds and samples in WAV or Soundfont format.
It’s all being done on a consumer and a grass-roots basis but I think some of the options that are available in
usable technologies can be brought here and the DVC30 was one of those.
Not all mp3 player decor will work with the next brand.
