Patrick's 10 Favorite Vampire and Werewolf Movies

09. the Howling (1981)

Coming off of seeing Teen Wolf when I was a kid, the Howling was one of the first really scary werewolf movies I had seen. It had great transformations and good special effects and maybe a little more mature subject matter than I was really ready for back in the day. Staring the great Dee Wallace and directed by Joe Dante the movie finds a reporter tracking down a serial killer who turns out to be a werewolf. Traumatized by the encounter she and her husband head to a rehabilitation center that is, wouldn’t you know it, overrun with werewolves. The movie has a ton of sex and violence and was the pinnacle of awesome for a 6th grade Patrick. The sequels that followed were pretty horrible but the Howling 3: the Marsupials is worth watching if only for its completely horrifying full transformation sex scenes and then baby werewolves in marsupial pouches. Ridiculous but hilarious.

  1. Okay, so I was almost to the bottom of the “vampire” list and I was like, “Where the hell is the Lost Boys.”

    I almost had a stroke.

    Best soundtrack, EVER.

    God.

  2. 3 fright night
    2 interview
    1 lost boys

also I was going to be furious about Silver Bullet not being higher until I saw Brotherhood of the Wolf. Good Call.

  3. You can also use midi controllers on certains phones, and you
can load your own sounds and samples in WAV or Soundfont format.
It’s all being done on a consumer and a grass-roots basis but I think some of the options that are available in
usable technologies can be brought here and the DVC30 was one of those.
Not all mp3 player decor will work with the next brand.
