All-Nite Scream-o-rama Postmortem

The Brood (1979)

The Brood was interesting for me if only because it spends so much time lingering on some of the more mundane relationship aspects that by the time it gets around to being a supernatural horror movie I was a little annoyed to not be watching the more engaging material. As it is, the horror aspects serve as a metaphor for the unconscious destruction of relationships due to behavior and personality disorders. The little demon children who kill people are creepy as hell even if the actual murders are a bit tame. I am not sure if it is physically possible to beat someone to death with those little wooden hammers you use on wooden pegs in pre-school but if anyone could do it I suppose the subconscious desires of a crazy person made manifest into murderous children  would be the ones.
